J.B. Smith joined HAI Group in 2015 as a senior risk control consultant. Currently, J.B. specializes in providing risk control consulting services to HAI Group members in the Mid-Atlantic region and select areas of the Southeast. Holding designations as a Certified Business Resilience Manager (CBRM) and a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional (CPD), J.B. brings a wealth of unique experiences and perspectives to the HAI Group Risk Control and Consulting team.
With a background encompassing over 20 years in law enforcement and security-related roles, J.B. has cultivated expertise in training professionals in safety, security, and insurance risk control. Over the course of his extensive career, he has served as law enforcement instructor, a first aid/CPR instructor, and an OSHA-authorized trainer. He is also a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) housing quality standards specialist.
Prior to joining HAI Group, J.B.'s most recent risk control experiences included valuable contributions to a well-regarded public housing authority and others as an independent loss control consultant.
